José de Almada Negreiros (1893-1970) foi um artista de diversos talentos: poeta, escritor, bailarino, actor, desenhador, pintor. O Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (Museu do Chiado) dedica, em exposição temporária, uma sala ao artista, nomeadamente o moderno desenho
A Sesta (1939).Além de outra exposição temporária, a de Jorge Oliveira (1924-2012),
A Invenção Contínua, congratulo-me com a exposição permanente, onde dialogam obras do século XIX com o século XX, numa melhor aproximação à história da arte portuguesa. Uma visita ali não esgota a necessidade de conhecer melhor a cultura artística portuguesa. O museu fica ao serviço dessa divulgação, que faz parte das suas obrigações. O que pareceu esquecido nos anos mais recentes.
